Alvin Tovstogray began his training at the age of eight and in 2008 graduated from Dnipro State Choreographic School under Viacheslav Volkov. From 2008 to 2010 Mr. Tovstogray studied at San Francisco Ballet School under Parrish Maynard and Jorge Esquel. He then spent two seasons with The Washington Ballet’s Studio Company. Alvin’s repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Anthony Tudor, August Bournonville, Twyla Tharp, Nacho Duato, Ma Cong, Stanton Welch, Septime Webre, Lucy Bowen McCauley, Margo Sappington, Matthew Neenan, Amy Seiwert, Sarah Tallman, Brian Enos, Yui Sato, Jacob Sparso, Robert Mills and others. Mr. Tovstogray has received multiple awards at International Ballet competitions including 3rd place at the Istanbul International Ballet Competition (2010), Bronze medal at World Ballet Competition Orlando (2011), and Gold medal at Tanzolymp (2012). Mr. Tovstogray joined Oklahoma City Balletin 2012, promoted to Soloist in 2014 and promoted to Principal in 2015. His favorite roles with Oklahoma City Ballet include ‘Romeo’ in Mills’ Romeo and Juliet, ‘That’s Life’ from Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, ‘Albrecht’ in Giselle. and 'Prince Desire' in Sleeping Beauty. He is an American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum Certified Teacher in Pre-Primary through Level 5 of the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum. He teaches ballet technique at The Dance Center of Oklahoma City Ballet for pre-professionals as well as open classes for various levels and ages. Alvin will be teaching Division 4/5 for OKC Dance Centre's 2017/18 season.
Morgan Sheppard Bennett
Morgan Sheppard Bennett began her dance training at the age of five. She studied primarily ballet and supplemented with jazz classes in Oklahoma City. Morgan has danced leading roles in performances of Coppelia, Wizard of Oz, The Sleeping Beauty and most recently The Snow Queen, and was Belle in the 2011 performance of Beauty and the Beast. She has also performed in The Nutcracker with Oklahoma City Ballet. Morgan has taught beginning through advanced ballet for 10 years as well as beginning and intermediate jazz for 6 years. Morgan has taken teaching workshops with Kay Sandel, and attended the Leap 'N Learn workshop in Lafayette, Louisiana. Leap 'N Learn is a dance education program where a child's cognitive and emotional development are considered an integral part of their dance education. Morgan teaches ballet and jazz at Oklahoma City Dance Centre.
Morgan Wilson, recent Dance Pedagogy graduate of Oklahoma City University, is excited to share her love for contemporary, musical theatre, jazz, and tap with OKC Dance Centre. She is originally from New Orleans, LA where she was a dance graduate of New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. She has been teaching all ages from creative movement to adult for 6 years.
Samantha Russell is from Hattiesburg, MS where she completed her degree in Dance Performance and Choreography at the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM Samantha was recognized in her department for "Outstanding Junior" and "Most Memorable Senior Piece." Samantha has attended the American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina for the past two summers, where she studied under numerous artists including: Elizabeth Corbett (Forsythe Company), Jennifer Nugent (Bill T. Jones Company) Teena Marie Custer (Venus Fly Trap Crew), Pamela Pietro (Anthony Morgan Dance Company), Gerri Houlihan (Lar Lubovitch Dance Company) and Sherone Price (Chuck Davis African American Dance Ensemble). Samantha loves sharing her passion for dance with her students and enjoys teaching many styles of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Samantha is currently training with Arrows International Dance Company while living and teaching in Edmond. Samantha teaches Int./Adv. Contemporary/Jazz at Oklahoma City Dance Centre.
