The purpose of OKC Dance Ensemble is to reach out to the OKC community through the medium of dance. The company is pre-professional, equipping dancers to reach their full potential technically and artistically. The dancers perform original works of different genres from ballet to contemporary. Acceptance into the company is by invitation or audition. Company members are required to take a minimum of 5 hours of ballet per week at OKC Dance Centre and must attend Monday night rehearsals. The company performs on average one to two times a month starting September of the school year through June. Click here apply for the company.
okcde outreaches 2016/17
The company is available for bookings at schools, arts festivals, nursing homes, theatres, local events, ministries and churches. The company is also available to teach mini dance workshops and worship workshops.
The OKC Dance Ensemble is currently performing "Peter and the Wolf," for the 2016/17 season.
"Peter and the Wolf," is a narrated children's story set to the score by Sergei Prokofiev.
The ballet features several delightful characters from, Peter, Grandfather, a Bird, a Cat, a Duck and even a Wolf!
The ballet is a fun, thirty minute show with original choreography by Liz Kraft Hubbard and Sarah Shackford.
